Check-in and check out:
Check-in time is 3 pm. If you should arrive earlier, we will
make every effort to accommodate you when possible. We will
gladly store your luggage until check-in time. Check-out time is
11 am. We will be happy to store your luggage if needed.
Rates, taxes, and gratuities:
Rates do not include a 9.7% Massachusetts room occupancy tax
and are subject to change without prior notice. Gratuities for
the chambermaids are not included in the room rate.
Minimum stay:
In the summer, we generally require a 3-night minimum during
the weekend and a 2-night minimum during the week. Minimum stays
may also apply at other times of year. Call for details, as
smaller slots are often available.
Deposits:
A deposit equal to the first 3 nights lodging, or 50% of any
stay longer than 6 nights, is required to confirm reservations.
The balance is due on arrival.
Cancellations:
For all cancellations, regardless of circumstance, a 10%
service charge will be retained by Arbor Cottage. For
cancellations made within 15 days of your scheduled arrival, you
will be held financially responsible for your entire
reservation, unless Arbor Cottage can fill the vacancy. Changes
of reservation date or early departure are treated as
cancellations and will carry the same fee. You are, however,
always welcome to send a friend or a family member in your
place. Because we are a small hotel, cancellations affect us
significantly, therefore we must abide by our policy in all
circumstances.
Travel Insurance:
We realize that cancellations are often beyond your personal
control. For this reason we recommend purchasing travel
insurance for peace of mind. The Veranda House will be happy to
supply your travel insurance company with any needed
documentation regarding our policy and about your reservation.

Group Cancellations:
Group reservations consisting of four (4) or more rooms are
final and deposits are completely non-refundable.
Additional guests:
There is a $35 nightly charge for a third room-occupant.
Children:
We accept children age 10 and older.
Flexible Use of the Captain's Loft Suite:
The
Captain’s Loft Suite may accommodate 2 or 3 adults in one or two
bedrooms, plus one child. We are delighted to accommodate one
child between 6-16 years old per family in this suite. There
will be a charge of $35 each for a 3rd and/or 4th person in the
suite.
Smoking:
The Town of Nantucket does not allow smoking in public
places. Guests are welcome to smoke in our garden.
Pets:
We do not allow pets at this time.
Telephone:
Our guestrooms do not have telephones as most of our guests
prefer their cell phones. (The cell phone
tower is nearby --- reception is very good--- we recommend that
you bring your cell phone)
There is a telephone (with data port) available for complimentary
brief local calls, and for
use with a telephone card.
Our toll free number is specifically for reservations. Calls
cannot be transferred to a guest.
Messages for guests will be taken at (508)228-0695. We are happy
to convey messages to
guests between 8am and 10pm. The inn's telephone is answered
for emergency calls
24 hours a day.
